Bee brave!

On Monday afternoon, Xenia B, Alice L and Georgina T competed in Queen Anne School’s Under 9 Spelling Bee competition. They competed both as a team and individually and showed much resilience and spirit to both remember some tricky spellings, as well as to overcome their nerves in quite an intimidating arena.

Not only were they under time pressure to recall their words, they had to stand alongside their rivals – on a very big stage – in front of quite a large audience. The girls achieved an excellent standard – with Georgina coming second place overall in the ‘Last man Standing’ section, and the team as a whole winning in 3rd place overall.

Ms Williams was very proud of their commitment – as well as their determination to learn some more challenging spellings for next time!
