Carol Services at St James’ Church

Gayhurst School held two Carol Services yesterday.  The Middle School (Years 3 and 4) in the afternoon and The Senior School (Years 5 and 6) in the evening.  Reverend Leach presided over both services as the visitors were treated to traditional carols and a selection of songs performed by The Chamber Choir, The Senior School Choir, The Middle School Choir and all the children together.

Please see our Facebook page for videos of the children singing.

There was a collection after both services in aid of the *’Walking with the Wounded’ charity.  That money was added to the walk that took place today from School to the Jolly Farmer which was undertaken by Year 1 to 6 as part of the Charity’s ‘walking home for Christmas’ initiative.  Thank you to everybody for supporting our Carol Services and being so generous in giving money to our nominated charity.  Both services and today’s walk have raised over £1000!!

*”Walking with the Wounded” is our nominated charity for this year.  The Charity works to support veterans who return from active service with physical and mental issues.  Prince Harry, who is the Expedition Patron for the charity  joined others on a Trek to South Pole in 2013.
