Castles

Year 1 have been learning about castles in History. Yesterday in Art they made the most of the sunshine and used different construction toys to make their own castles.

They tried to included the features they had learned about including arrow slits, high walls and drawbridges. They also thought about whether their castles were more like Norman, Medieval or Tudor Castles and if they would be good for defence or living in.

Meanwhile in anticipation of the Royal Wedding this weekend, Construction Club have been busy junk modelling Windsor Castle. They looked carefully at a photo of the castle, noticing turret, windows and doorways. The children were keen to award a Star of the Week, which went to Ella for her super use of milk bottle lids to create a stacked flagpole! Well done Ella!
