There is always hope

This term the children in Year 5 have been reading and discussing some of the key themes in The Boy, The Mole, The Fox and The Horse by Charlie Mackesy.

We also discussed the ancient Greek myth of Pandora and the evils she inadvertently admitted into the world. However, all was not lost, hope (abstract noun) was the last thing that was finally released giving humanity some vestige of light at the end of the tunnel. We also looked at the famous artwork by Banksy on the theme of hope.

The children then thought of all the lessons they had learnt from this book and that ultimately there is always hope.

Liberty dressed up as Pandora, and the children wrote down their most important lesson that they had learnt and put it into our box of HOPE.

Most importantly, it is a pertinent reminder that during difficult times, there is a light at the end, when things will become easier.
