Works began on our exciting development in January 2024
Our ambitious project will see the Gibbs Hall and surrounding buildings raised to the ground and the building of a new Sports Hall, Theatre and associated surrounding rooms. The development will provide our pupils with modern facilities for both sport and drama and a fantastic facility to welcome our parents and other stakeholders to attend performances and other events.
Tuesday 16th January.
The first building to come down was ‘Mevora’. Mevora, in the past, had housed former school caretakers and more recently was a working staff room. The Gayhurst Parents’ Association also had their second hand uniform shop in one of the outbuildings. It didn’t take much force to bring down this old building and it’s demise brings with it a real feeling of excitement that the development is finally under way.

Monday 22nd January.
Demolition has started on the Gibbs Hall today. The changing rooms have already gone!
Thursday 25th January

And finally, the Gibbs Hall has completely gone. That’s all the buildings demolished.
