Nursery

Our purpose built Nursery is a bright and spacious environment for our youngest children.  We provide exceptional care for our children encouraging them to explore, investigate and use their imagination.  As well as quiet corners for and areas for messy play and dressing up, there is a secure outdoor area.

Our qualified team follow the Early Years Foundation Stage guidance, learning through play both inside and outside whatever the weather.  Your child will also start to learn to recognise and write their own name and develop their communication, literacy and numeracy skills through a combination of child-led and adult-led activities.

Establishing relationships between you, your child and the staff is important and building your child’s independence and confidence is integral to our approach.

The Nursery is open from 8.20am until 3pm and we expect the children to attend a minimum of 5 morning sessions.  In addition, children may stay for lunch (until 1pm, bringing their own packed lunch) or a whole day.  Nursery children increase the number of sessions they attend throughout the year so that they are ready for full time school when they reach Reception age.

The children are integrated as much as possible into the Junior School and regularly play with our Reception children, use our Library and have music lessons in the Junior school buildings.  They also have a regular Games session with our Games staff.

We also have an after School Club until 17:15 which our Nursery children may attend.

We would be delighted to show you around our Nursery.
