Assistant Head Junior School (Sept 2020 or Jan 2021)
Gayhurst is seeking an Assistant Head Junior School to oversee the EYFS and Key Stage 1 section of the school. This is an excellent opportunity for an Early Years or KS1 specialist to lead the future development of an already strong department. The successful candidate must be passionate about working with young children and sensitive to their needs yet have high expectations of the foundations that can be laid at this stage of their academic and personal development. They will join the school’s Senior Leadership Team and will be well supported in shaping and delivering the school’s vision and strategic objectives. Previous experience of working in EYFS or KS1 is essential, whilst experience of leadership and working in a prep school is desirable.
The post is for September 2020 preferably, although a January 2021 start will be considered for the right candidate. Salary will be on the Leadership Scale commensurate with experience.

The successful candidates will be creative and committed teachers with excellent classroom practice and a thorough knowledge of teaching from Nursery to Year 2.
