Deputy Head Academic

(September 2022 or January 2023)

Gayhurst is seeking a Deputy Head Academic to oversee teaching & learning, pupil progress and lead the academic development of the school. The ideal candidate would be a creative educationalist with excellent organisational skills and a strong understanding of curriculum, assessment and pedagogical developments, who can inspire both staff and students. The successful candidate will be an excellent classroom practitioner with a flair for innovation and inspiration. They will be a key member of the school’s Senior Leadership Team and will be well supported in shaping and delivering the school’s academic vision. Previous experience in a prep school and knowledge of 11+ assessments for grammar and independent school entry are desirable and the ability to teach English or PSHE will be beneficial but not essential.

The post is for September 2022 (or January 2023 if the right candidate is not available sooner) and the salary will be on the Leadership Scale commensurate with experience but not less than £50,000.

Finance Manager

Gayhurst is seeking to appoint an inspirational KS2 English Teacher to teach sets of children across Years 4 to 6. The successful candidate must be an an excellent classroom practitioner with a passion for the English curriculum and an ability to motivate and enthuse children’s creativity. A team player with a willingness to make a wider contribution to the school beyond the classroom. Previous experience of 11+ and the ability to teach an additional subject will be an advantage.

Learning Support Teacher & Assistants

Gayhurst is seeking to appoint a dedicated Learning Support Specialist, Teacher or Assistant, to work with children with Special Educational Needs across the school from Reception to Year 6. The successful individual will work under the direction of our SENDCo and have relevant experience of supporting children with varying special educational needs. Applications are welcomed from experienced teachers and assistants with the relevant skillset to make a difference. Patience and understanding will be vital and an empathy and desire to see all children progress will be required.
