A Flurry of Art-ivity

Its nearing the end of term and the Art room is bustling with creative energy across years 2 – 6.  The children are busy finishing their art projects and hoping to get some Christmas activities in too.

Year 2 have been exploring still life drawing and discovering new methods and materials.  In their recent class they drew natural objects using sticks and ink.

Year 3 have been learning about the artist Charley Harper. Through drawing and collage, they have recreated some of his fascinating imagery from a collection of work called Animal Kingdom.

Year 4 have been learning about the impressionists.  They are now painting with confidence, mixing paints and matching colours and marks.  we look forward to seeing their work on display soon.

Year 5 have been designing signs for their own imaginary shops.  They combined imagery and words creatively, exploring lots of ideas before coming up with a final design.  They are now working on some outdoor signs which they hope will bring smiles to their fellow students when they go on display in Spring.

Finally, Year 6 are near the final stage of their Totem print project.  they are currently carving their lino blocks and they will soon produce a print which we will look forward to seeing next term.
