Maths Challenge
This week, Gayhurst hosted their annual Year 4 mathematics challenge. Nearly 100 pupils from 20 schools entered this year in what was a fast and furious afternoon of mathematics. There were five rounds in total ranging from sequences and making 24 to constructing tangram puzzles and working out alphabetical shopping bills! There was a buzz of excitement and in the final reckoning the Gayhurst ‘A’ team of Harry Dent and Hector Lamb finished in 5th place and the Gayhurst ‘B’ team of Annabelle Potts and Georgina Tamberlin finished in 9th place out of a total of 38 teams. Well done to both teams and many thanks to Douglas Buchanan for organising the questions (www.dcbeagle.com)
