The Dig is On!

The 3 D’s of archaeology: dig, discover and date

The school dig site has finally been launched! Many of the classes across the school have had the opportunity to experience what it is like to be an archaeologist finding out about the past by digging.

Great excitement was had by all the children getting stuck into the dig site and excavating the hidden artefacts buried beneath. There were squeals of delight for those lucky ones who found hidden treasures deep in the dirt.

_{The children have been learning about the importance of artefacts within their History lessons throughout their time at Gayhurst and the dig site has given them the perfect opportunity to bring that learning outside and use it practically. Not to mention the enormous amount of fun they’re having!}
