Wycombe Chair Museum
On Monday the Year 4 children visited the Wycombe Museum as part of their chair design project. At the gallery they learned about chairs made for a particular character or occasion. Through role play activities they discovered the history of chair making in the local area and got to handle real artefacts and tools from the Victorian era. They enjoyed drawing the chairs and gathering their ideas for their project.
Back in the classroom they will learn about materials and different methods of construction. They will continue to learn about chair designers and create a model of a famous chair design.
