Young Musician of the Year

On Monday afternoon, 8 of Gayhurst’s finest musicians steeled themselves to compete in the final round of Musician of The Year 2018. Having already made their way through two nail-biting rounds of the competition, each musician presented two contrasting pieces of music to an audience of their parents, staff and pupils from the Prep School.

Competition was extremely fierce, with each musician performing challenging music to a very high standard. Given the unenviable task of judging the competition was Mr Simon Couldridge, Director of Music from Merchant Taylor’s School, who gave constructive feedback to all candidates before going on to announce the winners of the Middle and Prep School competition, and then finally the overall winner for 2018.
