AmeyZoo came to visit Year 2 yesterday. Supporting their studies of the rainforest, the travelling, exotic zoo gave the children the opportunity to see creatures from far flung countries, most of which were new to them.
As you can see from the children’s faces there was a huge mix of emotions in the room. From excitement to nervousness and back again the girls and boys learnt all about habitats, survival skills and camouflage.
Stick insects, frogs, snakes and lizards and even a glow-in-the-dark scorpion, were all introduced along with a fascinating talk on just how these animals survive (or not) in the wild.
