Peace, love and understanding.
We are delighted to announce that Matthew, one of our Year 6 Pupils has been awarded second place in a National Writing Competition for children up to 18 years of age!
The Independent Schools Religious Studies Association (ISRSA) runs an annual competition for all children across the country in years 3 to 13. This year’s title was ‘How can religious understanding bring about peace?‘ and it was to be a story or essay on how religion can resolve conflict in no more than 300 words.
The assignment, to be completed at home, was set as a task by Head of Religious Studies, Miss Legg. Matthew said, “I feel really proud of myself and so pleased that I came second in the whole of the UK.” Matthew commented that he had discussed ideas with his parents and found the whole experience really interesting. Matthew was allowed to phone home and let his parents know the good news. Everyone is very proud of him!
