Things are heating up at Gayhurst!
A Gayhurst Quiz Team returned triumphant from Tuesday’s area heat of ‘Inter-schools General Knowledge Quiz’. The Quiz, hosted by Davenies and attended by many other local schools, was a keenly contested encounter. Gayhurst held the lead for much of the competition but it was a close battle with St Helen’s School, Northwood who came in second.
The Gayhurst team was made up of four pupils, one from each of years 3, 4, 5 and 6. Daniel, James, Noah and Zac were able to answer a wide selection of challenging questions on many different areas such history, music, spelling, maths, art and geography. The Quiz was hosted by Simon Blair, himself a former child genius, and he was suitably impressed with the answers the Gayhurst boys were able to give and their final score!
The team achieved an impressive 2,125 points out of a possible 2,700, narrowly defeating their Helen’s counterparts, who scored 2,090 in a tight finish.
The ‘fearsome four’ were delighted to follow the school’s Science team in winning the area heat and hope to match their achievement in qualifying for the National Finals.
