11 12 2017 Weather update from the Headmaster
Dear Parents
Firstly, I thank you for your understanding with today’s enforced closure due to the adverse weather conditions. A great team effort helped clear much of the site today, making pathways accessible so that we can open tomorrow. However, a nasty frost this evening could make the site extremely treacherous in the morning and we shall endeavour to grit the site as best as we can.
In the circumstances, I propose the following measures for the safety of all concerned:
– The school will be open from normal time but there will be a more relaxed arrival time, affording you the opportunity to travel when you feel safest. If children arrive after 8:45, then they should register their attendance at the school office.
– Children will not be expected to wear uniform. They should wear warm and if possible, waterproof clothing suitable to the conditions. It may also be advisable that they bring a change of footwear and clothes in case they get wet and or cold.
– It is preferable that all cars only use the drop off loop rather than park, so that we can keep the car park flowing and minimise any vehicles from getting stuck.
– To facilitate the drop off, I would suggest that no PE kit is needed for the final few days.
On a final advisory note, I noted today that a tree had encroached onto the road and passing it was difficult. This was on the Bull Lane approach to school coming from Bulstrode Way. I would expect that this could cause some congestion tomorrow.
I trust that all of these arrangements are clear and I look forward to seeing you all tomorrow. I urge you all to drive safely and be aware of the dangers of possible black ice that is very difficult to spot.
Regards
Gareth Davies
