Year 6 learn about The Battle of Britain
As part of their History studies Year 6 children were given the opportunity to listen to an informative and insightful presentation by Major General (Retired) T G Inshaw on the Battle of Britain. The presentation included commentary, film footage and interactive audience participation through questioning. The presentation took the children on a journey as to how the battle came about, why this was an important turning point during World War 2 and who were the key people involved. Year 6 children responded to questions posed and asked interesting ones themselves. The strategic planning of invasion was reflected from both sides of the war; British and Germans. The important message of how “Never was so much owed by so many to so few” left Year 6 children reflecting on the importance of this major event in British history timeline.
